Here at Bloody Bookish we believe writers are real life superheros.
And horror writers? Another breed entirely.
Our Horror Writer Superhero Spotlight shines the spotlight squarely on the twisted minds who bring you dark literature in all its dastardly forms.
Today’s spotlight shines on Joanna Parypinski, who destroys her enemies with a quill that shoots poisoned ink…
Q: What is the name of your alter ego?
A: Spectral Scribe
Q: Who or what is your nemesis?
A: My nemesis is an undead cheerleader who is very perky and blonde and just won’t die. Her shrill, perky cheers slowly drive you insane. Her name? The Cheerbleeder.
Q: What would be a fitting name for your sidekick?
A: I don’t have a sidekick. The Scribe flies solo.
Q: If you could (or do) have superpowers, describe them.
A: Spectral Scribe has all the ethereal abilities of a ghost: invisibility, flight, and the ability to move through solid objects.
Q: How would you conquer the forces of good/evil (depending on your Superhero’s moral affiliation).
A: Spectral Scribe haunts the minds of young writers as a horror muse, spreading darkness throughout society. She destroys her enemies with a quill that shoots poisoned ink.
Q: What would be your ultimate downfall?
A: She might eventually lose her identity as she fades away, a spectral ghost who can only haunt others, but more likely she will spread her horrific influence throughout the world through her macabre writings.
