WHAT I LIKED
With such an in-depth plot and compelling action, it’s easy to imagine this as the plot to a blockbuster movie.
Money, power, love and lust – all the markers of a fast-paced thriller, and A.C. Fuller brings it all to life with his engaging voice and tight plot.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
While I found the writing rich and layered, there were some times where the banter between characters took me out of the story. Conversations within other conversations sometimes made me lose focus, but luckily that wasn’t for long.
There was a lot of sleuthing throughout but I felt it did take some time to get to the action. But when it arrived, I was flipping pages quickly as the intricate web A.C. Fuller wove came together before my eyes.
I also loved that he gave me an ending I didn’t expect, masterfully revealed in a way that makes it a necessity for me to pick up the next book to see how the revelation plays out.
All in all, I enjoyed the book and I can’t help but wonder what’s next for Alex Vane and how he will handle the next battle in this war he unwittingly sought out and is now fully embroiled in.
With an intricate plot, many high-powered players and an ending that I didn’t see coming, The Anonymous Source was a compelling read, one that I highly recommend.
